Coach of the Year

Bloomfield High School proudly celebrates Coach Anne Burrows, who was recently honored at the Connecticut Sports Media Alliance’s 83rd Gold Key Dinner as the recipient of the Doc McInerney Women’s Coach of the Year Award.

Coach Burrows has built a tradition of excellence as the head coach of the Bloomfield High School girls indoor and outdoor track and field programs. Her leadership, dedication, and commitment to student-athletes have helped establish Bloomfield as one of the premier track and field programs in Connecticut.

This past school year was another historic one for the Warhawks. Under Coach Burrows’ leadership, Bloomfield captured both the Class S State Championships and State Open Championships during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. The indoor track and field team earned its 16th consecutive Class S State Championship, while the outdoor track and field team secured its fourth straight Class S State title. In addition, the 2025 outdoor track and field team achieved a remarkable third consecutive State Open Championship.

What makes these accomplishments even more extraordinary is the level of competition Bloomfield faces. As a Class S school with a girls enrollment of just 272 students, Bloomfield regularly competes against schools of all sizes, including programs with enrollments exceeding 1,000 students.

Beyond the championships and accolades, Coach Burrows has made a lasting impact on generations of student-athletes. She has mentored and coached numerous athletes who have continued their athletic careers at the collegiate level and beyond, while also emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

The Bloomfield community congratulates Coach Burrows on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for the pride and excellence she continues to bring to Bloomfield High School athletics.
