Bloomfield High School is celebrating another outstanding achievement in athletics, as the BHS Athletic Department has once again been selected as a 2025–2026 CIAC “Michaels Jewelers Achievement Cup” Exemplary Program Award recipient.
The Michaels Jewelers Achievement Cup is the highest statewide honor a Connecticut high school can earn, recognizing athletic programs that demonstrate excellence in sportsmanship, leadership, equity, participation, and opportunities for student-athletes.
This year’s recognition marks an extraordinary milestone for Bloomfield High School: the ninth consecutive year that the BHS Athletic Department has earned a Michaels Jewelers Achievement Cup. This remarkable nine-year streak reflects Bloomfield’s long-standing tradition of excellence and its continued commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for all student-athletes.
The award also highlights the Athletic Department’s commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes who demonstrate character, sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, and leadership both on and off the field.
The award will be presented on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, during the CIAC Sportsmanship Conference at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville, Connecticut.
“We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and Athletic Department for achieving this remarkable milestone,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tracy Youngberg. “Nine consecutive years of recognition is a tremendous accomplishment and speaks to the dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence demonstrated throughout our athletic program. We are grateful to our coaches, athletic leadership, families, and student-athletes for continuing to represent Bloomfield with such pride.”
The Michaels Cup application provides schools with an opportunity to highlight the many accomplishments, programs, and initiatives taking place within their athletic departments. Bloomfield’s continued recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of its student-athletes, coaches, athletic leadership, school administrators, families, and the broader school community.
Congratulations to the Bloomfield High School Athletic Department, coaches, and student-athletes on earning the Michaels Jewelers Achievement Cup for the ninth consecutive year! This is an incredible accomplishment and one that the entire Bloomfield community can be proud of.
