Congratulations to our students at Bloomfield High School and Global Experience Magnet School who earned Industry-Recognized Credentials (IRCs) this year!
Pictured below is our first cohort of OSHA 10-certified students, proudly wearing graduation cords in recognition of their achievement. Earning an OSHA 10 credential demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety, career readiness, and professional growth.
Expanding access to IRCs is an important district priority as we continue to provide students with meaningful career exploration opportunities and real-world skill development. Credentials like OSHA 10 help students gain valuable, transferable skills, explore future career pathways, and distinguish themselves as they prepare for college, careers, and life beyond graduation.
We are incredibly proud of these students and all who earned industry-recognized credentials this year. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence are helping build a strong foundation for future success. A special thank you to Mr. Mitchell for his leadership in leading this opportunity for our students!

Students in Ms. Baker's AP English Literature class brought their "Bricks and Voices" unit to life through a powerful blend of literature, art, and reflection. Each student selected a novel or play that had a meaningful impact on them during their four years of high school and transformed a literary element—such as symbolism, setting, character, figurative language, or point of view—into a unique brick design. With guidance from Art Teacher Ms. Ashborn, students created artistic representations that captured the essence of their chosen texts. To accompany their artwork, students wrote analytical papers explaining their creative choices and connecting them to key moments and themes from the literature. Students proudly shared their final projects with school staff and current sophomores in the library, showcasing the deep connections they formed with literature throughout their high school journey. The bricks will remain on display in the library, serving as a lasting celebration of student voice, creativity, and learning. A special thank you to Ms. Baker, Ms. Ashborn, and Mr. Staton for creating this meaningful interdisciplinary experience!

Girls Capture Fourth Straight State Open Title
Congratulations to our Girls Track and Field Team and Coaches on their historic win on Saturday at the Connecticut State Open Championship.
Saturday’s dominant performance marks four State Open Championships in a row, something Connecticut has never seen. The girls earned 64 points, comfortably outdistancing the runner-up team. Bloomfield’s unmatched depth and performance secured another dominant year for our program as the best girls track program in the State of Connecticut.
The boys earned runner-up status, falling to Naugatuck by a mere 2 points. A job well done by all student-athletes and coaches.
Congratulations to all of our student-athletes and coaches on an incredible season and a remarkable day of competition.
Another great day to be a Warhawk!

The Donald F. Harris Sr. AgriScience Program has started a composting program using the resources from our cafeteria during student lunches. Students are collecting excess food, trays, liquids, etc. and composting it into nutrient-rich soil. Students will then use the soil to plant various vegetables at the AgriScience Center. This is a great hands on project for our students to learn first hand about wastefulness and how best to recycle our resources.

On April 1st, BHS' Debate Team engaged in a debate focused on: Is AI/ChatGPT helping students learning or making them lazy? The topics was generated by a student in the debate club and voted on by members as the topic to debate. Students debated in front of an audience of their peers as well as a panel of teachers. Debate club teaches essential skills in critical thinking, public speaking, research, and persuasive communication.

BHS' AgriScience Center hosted a workshop today in collaboration with A Place Called Hope Educational Program, which focuses on educating others on Birds of Prey. Students got to see first hand three different species including; a hawk, a falcon, and an owl. They got to learn about the three species, their personal story of survival and the many simple ways to lessen conflicts with the wildlife that lives in your very own backyard. This was a great experience for our AgriScience students to explore other aspects of wildlife that they don't encounter daily as an AgriScience student.
