
Tomorrow, April 9th is PSAT/SAT Day at BHS! All students are required to come to school as they will be doing some form of testing: 9th and 10th graders will be taking the PSAT, 11th graders will be taking the SAT, and 12th graders will be taking their Senior Competencies or working on their CAPSTONE. Buses will be leaving the school at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. following the late bus runs to drop student's home.

Bloomfield Social and Youth Services is taking applications now for 2025 Summer Youth Employment. Pre-Applications are only open until full so make sure you sign up ASAP! Students ages 14-17 are eligible to apply.


Don't forget to come out tonight for BHS' April PTO Meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the BHS Library Media Center! Tonight's meeting will feature a listening session with BHS Superintendent, Dr. Youngberg. This is an opportunity for you to share with the Superintendent what you believer are points of pride and areas in need of improvement for Bloomfield Public Schools.

The Young Women's Leadership Group led by advisor, Ms. Evelyn Rodriguez and the YWCA took a college tour of Harvard University yesterday. The Young Women's Leadership Program helps youth learn critical life skills through project-based workshops, focusing on financial literacy, college and career exploration, STEM activities, team building and personal leadership development. This college tour provided our students with a chance to explore the different college opportunities available to them.


Congratulations to BHS Junior, Raheem Barclay on being accepted into the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) program at Princeton and Yale University this summer! The LEDA program is a free, five week residential program, which brings together student leaders for academic preparation, leadership training, college guidance, and standardized test preparation. Students will spend the first four weeks at Princeton University and the final week at Yale University. Congratulations Again, Raheem Barclay!

Congratulations to BHS Seniors, Morgan Powell and Chance Harvey! Morgan and Chance were honored last night at the CAS High School Arts Banquet for excelling in the arts. Morgan was honored for the visual arts and Chance was honored for the performing arts. CAS annually honors two outstanding seniors from each of the member schools in the state who excel in the performing or visual arts. Congratulations Again, Morgan and Chance!

Congratulations to our Pi Day Challenge Winner, Freshman, Amelia Joe. Amelia is able to "sing" over 100 digits of Pi. Congratulations, Amelia on such an impressive feat.


Parent Teacher Conferences are today and tomorrow at BHS from 12:45 - 2:50 p.m. and tomorrow evening from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Please make sure to sign up for a time slot on My Conference Time. UCONN School of Medicine & School of Dental Medicine Department of Health Career Opportunity Programs is offering Health Career Opportunity Programs over the summer. There are programs for Grades 8, 9 and 10. Students must apply by May 1st.


March Parent Teacher Conferences will be held at BHS on Wednesday, March 26th and Thursday, March 27th. Parents need to sign up for a timeslot on My Conference Time and appointments are on a first come, first serve basis. Yesterday, students from BHS' Donald F. Harris Sr. Agri-Science Center participated in a presentation by Blue Moon Raptors. Blue Moon Raptors is a non-profit organization whose mission is to rehabilitate ill, injured, and orphaned birds of prey to return them back to their natural habitat, where they will continue to enrich the environment. Thank you Mrs. Jarvis for setting up this amazing presentation where students were able to not only learn about different raptors but see them.



Congratulations to the All State Athletes of the Girls and Boys Indoor Track Teams! All State athletes were honored at a banquet last week at the Aqua Turf. The girls team was named Team of the Year and Junior, Vanessa Agyemang was named the Field Athlete of the Year!



Congratulations to the Shuttle Hurdle Relay of Jessie Singleton Jr., Shaun Lazenby, Sergio Rose Jr., and Delante Senior who placed 8th at New Balance Indoor Nationals in a time of 31.03, breaking the Connecticut State Record!

Congratulations to BHS Girl's Track and Field Coach Anne Burrows, who last night accepted the Coach of the Year Award during the 25th Annual Connecticut Indoor Track & Field All-State Banquet, sponsored by the Connecticut Coaches Association.
Her team won the State Open, their 4th such title, completing a perfect season by also winning the Conference Championship and being named Class S Champions (for the 15th year in a row)! A State Open victory means her team was the best girls track team in the state regardless of size.
