On Wednesday, March 27, 2024 the Bloomfield High School JROTC program underwent a comprehensive inspection from US Army Cadet Command. JROTC programs are designed to teach high school students the value of leadership, citizenship, and service to our country. The JROTC Program Assessment (JPA) inspection takes place every three years to assess the JROTC program in the areas of: teaching, learning, leadership, discipline, community service and citizenship. The BHS JROTC program scored 192 out of a possible 200 points earning the highly coveted Honor Unit with Distinction Award. This puts BHS JROTC in the top 10% of all 1800+ JROTC programs world-wide. Mr. Ivey the senior inspector from US Army Cadet Command stated “ BHS Cadets were well prepared and performed brilliantly. This was clearly one of the best inspections I have conducted all year”. Congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel Gregory Reuling and First Sergeant Robert Grant and all of their cadets on an amazing effort!

Spring Sports have begun at BHS! We encourage all of our students to get involved by joining a sport or club. During the spring season, BHS offers, baseball, softball, girls tennis, and boys and girls outdoor track. We also have numerous clubs to choose from including, photography club, young women's leadership, young men of excellence, medical leaders, art club and more. Now is the time to get involved!

We have been notified that Charles Fennell has been selected by CAS-CIAC to participate in the 2024 National Federation of High Schools, National Student Leadership Summit in Indianapolis, Indiana. Each year, CAS-CIAC sponsors a group of student leaders from their student boards and member schools, who have exhibited astonishing leadership skills over the years, to attend this exciting event. As an outstanding student leader who has been involved in various leadership events, Charles has been selected to attend this national conference to represent our State! Congratulations, Charles!

Charles presented to principals and superintendents on the school experience from the perspective of a student. At the Board of Education meeting on March 12th, the Board voted to amend the 2023-2024 academic calendar. Due to the Presidential Primary on Tuesday, April 2, Bloomfield High School will be closed. The last day of school will now be on Friday, June 14, 2024.
