The district’s next free Family Workshop Series is Thursday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m., at the town’s community center, 330 Park Ave. The topic is “The Self-Care and Parenting Connection - Defining Self-Care and What it Means to You.” The family workshop series will continue into 2024.

This message is to inform you about several events that will occur this week at Bloomfield High School.
1. The Bloomfield High school SAT preparatory course will begin this Thursday for all juniors who are registered for the course. Students must report to the auditorium at 2:30pm for further instruction.
2. Seniors will be measured for their caps and gowns tomorrow December 12, during lunch waves. It is important that all are in attendance.
3. Tomorrow, at 6pm, please join us at Bloomfield high school for the December PTO meeting. Parents will have the opportunity to take the ASPIRE survey, which will expand Bloomfield’s network of connections in support of our students.
The deadline to fill out our district-wide Climate Survey is Thursday, Dec. 21. The survey allows us to measure the level of positive school climate by getting anonymous feedback from students, families and staff. Here is the link to the survey:

Congratulations to BHS' Football Team on their Class 'S' State Championship over Cromwell/Portland. The Warhawks won 42-20 to secure their 10th State Championship for the Football Program. Touchdowns for the Warhawks were scored by: Davien Kerr (3), Davion Kerr (1) and Zakyi Kimber (1).

A Connecticut Sun free girls basketball clinic will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 9, at the town's community center at 330 Park Ave. Two sessions:
Grades 6-8: from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Grades 9-12: from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Congratulations to Bloomfield High School’s Voices of Inspiration Gospel Choir on a brilliant first performance of the year at the Town of Bloomfield’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, held last Saturday. Thanks to all of the students, parents and staff in attendance. Special thanks to the beautiful student soloist of the evening Aubrey Cassiano, student production assistant Joshua Grant and student technical assistant Isaiah Joyce.
The Music Department will be in concert here at Bloomfield High School on next Thursday, Dec. 14th at 6:30 pm sharp. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear our amazing band and award-winning chorus. The concert is free.
Schools are conducting Parent Teacher Conferences on December 6-8. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to meet with their children’s teachers so they can play a role in their child’s academic and social development. There will be Early Dismissal on those days at 12:15 p.m.

BHS is also hosting Financial Aid Night tonight, December 5, 6 p.m., in the BHS Library for all parents/guardians of seniors. University of Hartford Director of Student Financial Aid Katherine Presutti will explain how to apply for financial aid and discuss the relevant forms.

Congratulations to the BHS Warhawks who are heading to the Class 'S' Championship Game after defeating Notre Dame - Fairfield yesterday, 20-14. Battling back after being behind 14-0 at halftime, the Warhawks came to life during the second half, scoring three touchdowns and securing the win with only 36 seconds left on the clock. Touchdowns for the Warhawks were scored by Davion Kerr (2) and Marlon Britton (1). The Warhawks will play the co-op of Cromwell/Portland at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Rentschler Field for the Championship. Tickets can be purchased on Go Fan.
