October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month and BHS' Volleyball Team is doing a Dress Down Day on October 13th to help with their month-long initiative of fundraising for the cause. The district, through Oct. 15, is celebrating national Hispanic Heritage Month. It is a time when our country celebrates the contributions, cultures and rich histories of Americans whose ancestors were reared in Spanish- speaking countries. This year's theme is Latinos: Driving Prosperity, Power, and Progress in America."

Congratulations to the Varsity Football Team on their 56-13 win over Plainville last night. The Warhawks were led by Davion and Davien Kerr who combined for six touchdowns. Marlon Britton also scored a touchdown for the Warhawks. Quarterback Darrien Foster threw for three touchdowns in the win. The boys will have a two week break before taking on Northwest Catholic in the Homecoming Game on October 19th. 🏈

Notice all Bloomfield families: The Back-to-School event – 2023 Extravaganza Day- postponed a few weeks ago has been rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 8, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Rockwell Green, located on Rockwell Drive. Book bags and supplies will be available for free. There will also be games, entertainment food and ice cream.
There will be a flu clinic for all Bloomfield Public Schools faculty/staff on October 4, 2023 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Nurse's Office at Carmen Arace Middle School. This clinic is for flu shots only. You do not need to make an appointment, but you do need to bring a copy of your insurance card.
Our Lady Warhawks Varsity Soccer Team travels to Wethersfield High School today for their soccer game, which starts at 3:45 p.m. The girls have started the season strong with a 2-2 record, led by captains: Sianna Lloyd, Morgan Powell and Sarah Priemer.

Here are the head shots of the five Bloomfield High students recognized by the College Board for their academic prowess on standardized tests and in the classroom. The Board's National Recognition Program identifies high-achieving sophomores and juniors from underserved communities across the country. It is an accomplishment viewed favorably by colleges and universities when receiving college applications. In addition to highlighting that a student has done well on standardized testing, the Board’s recognition also indicates the student carries a grade-point average of at-least 3.5 at their school.
