Bloomfield Public Library is teaming up with Crazy 8s, the nation's largest after-school math club for kids ages 8-12. The program runs for 8 weeks on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm, starting tomorrow February 27th. It will be held at 330 Park Avenue in Bloomfield. To register, visit https://bplct.evanced.info./signup/
Congratulations to the Metacomet Students of the Month for February!
The Metacomet Travel choir performed at Seabury Retirement Community on February 9th 2024.
The singers performed their favorite playground songs including "Miss Mary Mack", "Little Sally Walker", "Down By The Bay" and "Blue Bird" as well as a few international hand clapping game songs from Ghana, Zimbabwe and Mexico. The highlight of the performance came when the choir challenged the audience to sing along to "When the Saints go Marching in" as the choir sang "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" in beautiful partner song harmony. The encore song was of course, "The Bloomfield Blues" The Metacomet school song, which got the audience on their feet for a standing ovation! This was wonderful experience that the students and community members look forward to repeating for years to come.
