Congratulations to all of our seniors on the Girls Varsity Soccer Team! BHS Seniors are: Blessing Amusa, Markeda Carnegie, Sianna Lloyd and Kiara Smith. Last night the girls played International/AAE on senior night and the game ended with a 0-0 score. The girls' team has now qualified for the state tournament.
Yesterday, BHS hosted its Annual College Fair in the BHS Gymnasium. Thank you to the BHS Guidance Department for a great event! There were over a hundred colleges/universities, trade schools, and the military in attendance, providing students with a great opportunity to network with college admissions representatives.
Congratulations to Jaden Smith who was named All Conference at the CCC Cross Country Championship meet yesterday! Jaden will compete in the Class SS Championship next Saturday, October 28th at Wickham Park. 🏃🏾♂️

This week, Oct. 16-21, is Homecoming Week at BHS. On Thursday, Oct. 19, there will be a students-only pep rally for the 7 p.m. football game vs. Northwest Catholic. The following day, there will be a home girls flag football game at 7 p.m. A school dance caps the spirit-filled week Saturday, Oct. 21.

Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Teams who are both just 1 win away from securing a spot in the playoffs. On Friday, the boys defeated New Britain, 3-1. Goals for the Warhawks were scored by: Jahmeen Harrigan (1), Kenai French (1), and Dejuan Drummond (1). Also on Friday, the girls defeated Platt, 6-2. Goals for the Warhawks were scored by: Sianna Lloyd (3), Arianna Reid (1) and April Nathaniel (1). The girls will be at home, tomorrow, October 17th at 3:45 p.m. vs New Britain. Please come out and cheer on our Warhawks!
Christopher Prescott, former program director for the Capital Region Education Council, has been hired to be Bloomfield Public Schools’ new School to Career Specialist. He starts tomorrow, Oct. 17.
Mr. Prescott is a passionate youth advocate and mentor. He is also a former overseas professional basketball play who founded M-Pact Mentoring Inc., which provides mentoring and development programs for youth.
In his new job, Mr. Prescott will be counseling middle and high school students in developing success plans that guide them from middle school to senior year in high school and beyond. He will also organize career-development workshops.
A community forum on domestic abuse is being hosted today, Oct. 16, by the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the town's community center, 330 Park Ave. Attendees will learn how to spot signs of domestic abuse and how to help - including available resources. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence is seeing more domestic violence cases this year, including more cases of family violence involving children.
