Congratulations to Senior, Davion Kerr who was named Player of the Game for the 2nd week in a row by Gametime CT. Davion scored three touchdowns in the game against South Windsor. He also had 124 all purpose yards from two receptions and five carries. 🏈

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Cross Country Team for their 27-28 win over New Britain yesterday. Top finishers for the girls were: Jahniya Barclay, Kiylah Williams and Soleigh Dixon.

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Soccer Team for their 4-3 win over Hartford Public yesterday. Jahmeen Harrigan scored all four of the goals for the Warhawks, which in soccer terms is a goalscoring haul.

Bloomfield Public Schools celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from
Sept. 15 to October 15. This year's theme is Prosperity, Power and Progress. Our district values diversity, inclusion and respect for all cultures. Students of Latino heritage are an emerging population in our schools.

The Athletic Department will receive a plaque commemorating this honor at the CIAC Sportsmanship Conference on October 3rd. Congratulations to the girls' varsity volleyball team for their win over Academy of International Studies yesterday! The girls won in 4 sets with a score of 3-1. The girls will take on Avon next Monday at 3:45 p.m. at Avon High School.

Important Reminder: All enrolled students in district will receive a free healthy breakfast and lunch at school during the 2023-24 year. Children will not have to pay a fee or submit an application. This free-meals program is part of a national program, known as the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

Student Council Elections are coming up at BHS! Anyone who wishes to run for office must complete a consent form by Tuesday, September 19th and turn it into Mrs. Doll, Student Council Advisor. There will be no extensions or late forms accepted. September 20-27, 2023 will be designated as Campaign Week. During this week, candidates may officially post campaign materials in accordance with the established election rules. Election results will be announced on Friday, September 29th.

BHS' Open House is on Wednesday, September 13th at 6:00 p.m. We hope to see all of our parents and guardians in attendance. 🏫. Light refreshments will be served.

Don't forget that this week's home football game is on Thursday, September 14th. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Things to remember if you are coming to the game on Thursday:
1. All tickets for home football games are sold on Go Fan only.
2. No bags or outside food/beverage are allowed inside the game.
3. All students must be accompanied by an adult to be granted entry.
4. The building is closed before, during, and after games. No one will be allowed entry into the building to use bathrooms or collect belongings. Please plan accordingly.
